SHOULD I GIVE

I'M A MEMBER...

I'M NOT A MEMBER...

Here's what we believe about giving. If you are a member of Good News Bible Church, we believe that part of the responsibility of being a part of the body of Christ with us means you tithe financially. This stems first from the idea that God created work when he placed Adam in the garden and that Adam worshipped God through how he managed that creation. After the sin entered the picture, you immediately see those who are devoted to God worshipping with the offering of their very best (a tithe!). It later, with Israel, became the law and was indicated that the first 10 percent of all received belonged to the Lord. Jesus clearly endorses the command to give (Being God's son and all) and its seen throughout the gospels. He commends the widow only able to give a few pennies, instructs on giving without pride, and reminds that giving must be a reflection of the heart.

If you aren't a member, you don't have the same responsibility to our body to giving. However, we'd say there are two categories here. First, you believe in Jesus as Savior. We believe that our view (above) on giving isn't unique. As a believer, you should be a part of a church somewhere else and you should be giving there. If you already faithfully do that, fantastic. Then we'd love if you participated with us through giving. Second. You don't believe in Jesus as Saviour. Giving is an act of worship out of love and thankfulness for all that God has done for us. If you give, that is fine. However, for you it is not an act of worship and so will also not gain any points with God or cover payment for any wrongdoing. The only way to do that is through belief in Jesus Christ.
